4th Tanzania-Italy Business Forum

The IV Tanzania-Italy Business Forum held from 11 to 14 February 2025 between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, organized by the Italian Embassy, ​​the ICE Agency and the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC). The Forum saw the participation of 300 Tanzanian companies and 50 Italian companies, with over 500 B2B meetings. The Italian delegation included a system mission, with the presence of CDP, SACE and SIMEST, in addition to the Director for Economic Internationalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Fabrizio Lobasso, and Vincenzo Ercole, Global Head of Italian Infrastructure at Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

 

The Business Forum has been inaugurated in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mahmoud T. Kombo. This represents an important moment for meeting, collaboration, and development between the two countries!
The Italy-Tanzania Business Forum brings together institutional representatives, Italian and Tanzanian companies, and international financial organizations.
It serves as a platform to promote technology and Italian know-how in key sectors.

 

During the Business Forum, the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with La Sapienza University of Rome. The partnership aims to promote joint research in priority areas identified by both universities, as well as to enhance training, consultancy, academic exchange and capacity building initiatives. Other areas of collaboration include strengthening neurological research, enhancing the MUHAS genetic laboratory and clinical biorepository, and conducting specific research on multiple sclerosis, as well as other scientific projects. The MoU was signed by Prof. Appolinary Kamuhabwa, Vice-Chancellor of MUHAS, and Prof. Marco Salvetti of La Sapienza University.

 

At the closing remarks ceremony of the Business Forum intervened Hon. Omar Said Shaaban, Minister of Trade and Industrial Development for the Zanzibar Revolutionary Government.
