During the Italian Festival “Tusherekee Italia,” Italian Ambassador Marco Lombardi launched the board game “Tumia Akili” (Use Your Brain) on June 22nd. The game, created by Mrs. Michelangela Adamo, is in Swahili language and aims to promote knowledge of Italy. Minister of Culture Pindi Chana expressed her deep appreciation for the initiative, which also aligns with the promotional efforts for Rome’s candidacy for Expo 2030. Dr. Gaetano Castellini Curiel, Head of the Task Force for Rome 2030, emphasized that Rome’s success relies on intensified cultural cooperation with partner countries.
Ambassador Lombardi announced during the event that, recognising Tanzania’s commitment to promoting Swahili worldwide, the Italian Embassy in Dar es Salaam will donate the board game “Tumia Akili” to Swahili language departments at Italian universities. This donation aims to secure Dodoma’s support for Rome Expo 2030. Dr. Castellini Curiel, accompanied by a delegation of Italian businesses and academia, also met with Minister of Investments, Trade, and Industry Ashatu Kijaji and held a unique meeting with non-profit organizations (OSC), civil society organizations, and universities. It marked the first-ever meeting between Italian and Tanzanian representatives from the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Through university mediation, the participants engaged in discussions about potential collaborations related to the theme of Rome 2030.
