During the end of last week, Ambassador Marco Lombardi met with representatives of Italian NGOs and Missions in Tanzania.
On Thursday 12, Ambassador had a meeting with the President of L’Africa Chiama, Anita Manti, that is assisting children with handicap in Iringa. Lombardi stressed that Italy in this field has developed skills that put our Country at forefront worldwide.
On Friday 13, he met with Giovanna De Meneghi, Partnerships and Advocacy Manager of the NGO CUAMM. It was discussed the contribution of the Embassy to the important programs of CUAMM in Tanzania in the medical field with a special reference to the fight against COVID-19.
On Saturday 14, Lombardi attended the centenary jubilee (100 years) of Capuchin Presence in Tanzania. Lombardi, during a ceremony chaired by Archbishop Ruwa’ichi, praised the role of italian missionaries in Tanzania that help the development of the Country and, thanks to their extraordinary work, contributed so much to the relationship between Italy and Tanzania.
Ambassador Lombardi, in all his meetings, underlined the importance of a further strengthening of the Italian presence in Tanzania that, thanks to robust growth rates, a young population, a good level of education and the cost of work, can provide good opportunities for Sistema Italia.
