The new Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

Enzo Moavero Milanesi is the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, appointed on Friday 1st June by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. The new Minister had immediately met the Secretary General Elisabetta Belloni and the Directors General of the Ministry. He affirmed in his first speech that “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds a wealth of fundamental experience to guarantee Italy to continue being among the leaders in a changing world”. He stressed a team spirit to deal with the challenges of international current affairs. Moaveri Milanesi was born in 1954, he is University Professor in European law and was previously Head of Cabinet of the European Commissioner Monti (1995-2000), Deputy Secretary General of the European Commission (2002-05) and Minister for European policies during Monti and Letta Government (2013-15).
