Meeting with the Vice President Mpango

Ambassador Marco Lombardi met with the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Professor Philip Mpango, on August 26, 2021. During the meeting it was discussed the state of bilateral cooperation between Italy and Tanzania. Mpango underlined that Tanzanian Authorities attach great importance to Italian tourists and hope that their presence here will soon return at the same levels of the pre-COVID. Interest was also shown for having delegations of Italian companies. Vice President Mpango informed that he will lead the Tanzanian Delegation to the Glasgow COP26 of next November. He stressed that he believes in the role that Italy, UK partner, will play during this event.
Lombardi reiterated the commitment to further improve cooperation of Italy with Tanzania at bilateral and multilateral level and asked Mpango support for a positive conclusion of the dossiers that are still opened between the two Counties.
