On Thursday, 14th of February the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG) called upon a partner breakfast meeting to introduce the new “Local Climate Finance initiative in Tanzania”. The project is aimed at establishing a robust and effective mechanism to enable local government authorities in the country both to access climate finance on a regular and sustained basis and to use it effectively in building climate-resilient local economies and communities. Implemented with the technical assistance from the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), the new initiative is possible also thanks to a contribution from the Italian Development Co-operation.
