On 13 February 2026, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, attended the Second Italy-Africa Summit in Addis Ababa, which was co-chaired by the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni. The Summit was an opportunity to review the initiatives identified in the framework of the Mattei Plan for Africa, being Tanzania among the 14 focus countries since January 2025.
